Questions
The practical bits
If something isn't here, ask on the form. We read every one.
- Do I need to know anyone?
- No, and most people don't. Ten guests arrive alone and sit down together. That is the entire premise.
- What does it cost?
- The price is set for each supper and shown on the invitation before you confirm anything. It covers the whole evening's food.
- Is it vegetarian?
- There is always plenty that is. Tell us what you avoid on the form and it will be cooked for, not worked around.
- I have an allergy.
- Write it on the form, in detail. Ours is a home kitchen where nuts, dairy and gluten are all present, so we will tell you honestly if we cannot keep you safe.
- Can I bring a bottle?
- Please do. There will be something to drink either way, and no pressure at all if you would rather not.
- What should I wear?
- Whatever you would wear to a friend's for dinner. Nobody dresses up.
- When do I find out the address?
- In the confirmation email, once your seat is confirmed. Never on the public site.
- What if I can't make it?
- Tell us as early as you can and we will offer the seat on. We shop for exact numbers, so a late drop usually cannot be refilled.
- How do I actually get a seat?
- Send an introduction. Vahnika reads every one and seats the table deliberately — it is not first-come-first-served, and it is not a checkout.
- How often do you host?
- Roughly twice a month. When the next date isn't fixed yet, join the list — it hears first.
- Do I need to make an account?
- No. Send an introduction and everything after it reaches you by email — the offer of a seat, how to pay, the address. You never have to sign in if you would rather not.
- So what is the sign-in for?
- Seeing your own booking whenever you like, rather than digging for an email: the date, what is owed, your reference, and the address once your seat is confirmed. There is no password — you give your email and we send you a link. “Your seat” at the top of any page is the way in.
