How seats work

Sending an introduction is a request, not a booking or purchase. You must give accurate contact details and tell us the number of people coming. The host reads each request and decides whether to offer seats; submitting first does not guarantee priority or acceptance.

An offer states the number of seats, all-in amount, payment reference and expiry time. It is temporary until you accept it. For a paid supper, follow the stated bank-transfer instructions and upload evidence through your private account. A screenshot is a claim for review, not proof that money reached us. Your booking becomes confirmed only after the host verifies receipt. A free seat is confirmed when its offer is accepted.

Use the exact reference and contact us if the amount, currency or party size looks wrong. Do not send money after an offer expires. The private address is shown only through a confirmation link or signed-in account after confirmation; please do not publish it.

Tell us as soon as you need to change a name, food requirement, party size or attendance. A replacement guest is not automatic: the host must have their name and food-safety details before agreeing the change.

If you cancel after paying, contact us promptly. Refund entitlement can depend on timing, costs already committed and any event-specific terms shown with the offer; a refund is not issued automatically by the website. Any refund due is recorded against the original booking and returned separately. If Atithi cancels the supper, the amount you paid for it will be refunded. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Suppers are cooked in a home kitchen where nuts, dairy, gluten, sesame, mustard and other allergens may be present. Cross-contamination cannot be excluded. Give a separate dietary answer and allergy or medical-risk answer for every person before the event, even if the answer is “none”. We will be honest if the kitchen cannot safely accommodate a requirement. Keeping those details current remains essential.

Suppers are for people aged 18 or over. If alcohol is permitted for the particular event, drink responsibly and follow the host’s instructions. The table is shared with people who may not know one another. Harassment, dangerous behaviour, deliberate damage or sharing the private address can result in removal; refund rights will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
